The Gage (Chicago)

There was a heat wave on the weekend that I spent in Chicago and it was literally 40 degrees + outside. We couldn't spend too much time roaming around Millennium Park in the heat, so I was glad that our lunch venue, The Gage, was right across the street!  
Nothing pleases me more than to start off the meal with some warm and fluffy bread with butter. 
Fentimans Ginger Beer ($6)
The ginger beer was much needed after walking outside in the sweltering heat. I had to resist the temptation of ordering a second one after gulping down the first glass. 
Fish & Chips ($15) - Guinness batter, malt tartar sauce
Loved the cute presentation in a wooden box. I didn't eat much of this but my boyfriend enjoyed it very much. 
The Gage Venison Burger ($17) - smoked Gouda, fried jalapeno, woodland mushrooms, pickled onion, red wine ketchup and mustard aioli
I was sold on the burger because I loved all the toppings that were listed! The venison patty was incredibly juicy and I particularly loved the mushrooms. I requested my burger to be cooked medium, and it came out just right- slightly pink in the centre! This was a super satisfying burger that exceeded my expectations! On the whole, I thought The Gage was a great, affordable spot to grab lunch or dinner, especially for tourists who are exploring the Millennium Park/Art Institute area.
