Summerlicious @ Trevor Kitchen & Bar

My only Summerlicious dinner this year was at Trevor Kitchen & Bar ($35), which I've been to twice before. Anyway, I think they must have made a mistake because we ended up waiting for more than 30 minutes for our table (with a reservation) even though everyone else waiting at the bar appeared to be seated already. Once they realized that we had been waiting for a long time, the staff were very apologetic and gave us free drinks and apps on the house, so I can't really complain too much.
Shortly after we were seated, we were presented with two poutines to start. This one featured beef short rib and feta instead of the traditional cheese curds and it was very flavourful.
The other one featured thick cut bacon. By the time we demolished the two poutines, everyone was half full already!
But since we were here for Summerlicious, we ordered ahead anyway. My boyfriend had the seared sea scallop with pork belly to start. I think I ate half of the pork belly because it was too fatty for him.
I had a delicious bacon and tomato salad with guanciale, avocado and crispy shallots. I wiped the whole plate clean.
Northern ontario whitefish with rosti, nappa cabbage and lobster tartare sauce
Buttermilk fried herb chicken with roast potatoes & bitter greens in spicy ponzu dressing. The chicken was so moist and the batter was incredibly crispy! This fried chicken here was definitely better than the one at Nota Bene.
I chose the mini kobe burgers with garlic truffle mayo and sea salted frites. These were seriously the smallest and most adorable burgers I've ever seen! I was glad that it was so tiny since I was pretty much stuffed by this point. Despite the small size, the burger patties had a great, meaty flavour. Unfortunately, I couldn't touch any of the fries after those two poutines.
By the time dessert arrived, we were all so full that we could only pick at it. I had the strawberry tiramisu.
Crème brulée
Dark chocolate and caramel torte with peanut butter chantilly. This one was too rich and sweet for me.
And of course, we ended the meal with their signature cotton candy! And yes we still ate most of it even though we were stuffed to the brim!
