Brunch @ Le Select Bistro

I love brunch, but I absolutely hate waking up early, and I hate waiting (especially in the winter). Luckily for me, Le Select Bistro takes reservations, and on this occasion our party of 6 was seated at the back room (which I did not even know existed). The vibe is exactly how I imagined a European bistro should be, and it's the perfect atmosphere for a lazy Saturday brunch.
I was starving while waiting for some friends to arrive so I had two cups of coffee to tie me over. While my coffee was good, I was a little jealous of my boyfriend's cappuccino, which was accompanied by a piece of chocolate.  It's those cute touches that really get to me.
Yup, I also gobbled up the bread in lightning speed. It's the same kind of bread that they serve for dinner.
One of my friends had the œfs forestieres ($15.95)- two poached eggs atop a fricassé of mixed mushrooms, with seared polenta, tomato jam, and roasted root vegetables. I didn't try any but my friend cleared her plate.
Most of the table ordered œufs et saucisses fermières ($14.95)- two eggs any style with house-made Berkshire breakfast sausages and Rösti potato. I mooched a lot from my boyfriend's plate, and I particularly enjoyed the super fluffy and creamy scrambled eggs!
I couldn't resist œufs bénédicte ($15.95) - two poached eggs on a croissant with ham and Hollandaise, served with asparagus, mushrooms and bok choy. The portion was on the smaller side, which was perfect because it was all very rich.
Honestly, I couldn't be happier with my choice! The ham + croissant + Hollandaise combination was utterly divine. The eggs were poached perfectly with a gloriously runny yolk. Even the side veggies were wonderful: well-seasoned and delicious! All in all, brunch at Le Select Bistro was fantastic and I will be certainly be back for more!
