Favourites from Moxie's

Moxie's is one of my favourite chain restaurants, and there are a few staples on that menu that I just keep going back for! First up, from the lunch menu, the irresistible lobster and brie grilled cheese with a side spring mix salad! I wished that Moxie's would serve its sandwich menu for dinner too, since I rarely have a chance to go there for lunch. This grilled cheese is pure buttery decadence, oozing with creamy, savoury cheese that perfectly complements that intense flavour of lobster. Just looking at this tells me that I'm long due for another lunch visit to Moxie's! I used to also love the side spinach salad that came with it, but unfortunately that menu item is gone as well, replaced by an ordinary spring mix salad.
Penne Toscana is also another of my favourites. The pasta is tossed with large morsels of Italian sausage and bacon in a creamy tomato, pesto and white wine reduction. This might not be an authentic Italian pasta, but it's certainly delectable. I always enjoy mopping up all the sauce with the accompanying garlic bread.
The X-treme burger never disappoints. Loaded with two patties, this monstrous burger has everything I love: cheddar, mozzarella, tomato, pickle, onion, mushrooms, BBQ sauce and bacon. I can never eat more than a third of this burger, and it's certainly not one that I can pick up and bite into. A fork and a knife is a must to devour this burger! The patties are super juicy, and the BBQ sauce adds an extra dimension to the flavour profile. It's true love in the form of a burger.
The white chocolate brownie is indeed, the ultimate dessert encounter. White and dark chocolate folded into a white chocolate brownie, finished with French vanilla ice cream, real whipped cream and warm chocolate sauce. One of my all-time favourite desserts! (and that's saying a lot!) I was first introduced to this dessert when Moxie gave us free samples while we were waiting for seats. Since then, I've become addicted to this dessert, and I would often go to Moxie's just to have it. The brownie is impossibly rich, and I'm always torn between devouring the whole thing before the ice cream melts and enjoying every sinful bite slowly. The chocolate sauce, the whipped cream, and the ice cream all work so beautifully to make every mouthful a heavenly decadence. On a side note, the Scarborough Town Center location seems to serve a smaller brownie than the Richmond Hill location.
